Author's Note

This story is something I hope people living in the 30th century—or even further into the future—will read.

By then, the beings known as humans may have journeyed beyond this blue water planet and into the endless sea of space.

Many children and parents living aboard spaceships or on faraway celestial bodies might look back with warmth on their ancestral planet, Earth.

I want them to understand—somehow, in some way—how the seas, covering seventy percent of this planet, are filled with wonder and beauty, and how deeply they can stir the human spirit.
